Richard L. Alexander received a B.S. in systems ecology (biology) at Cornell University. Alexander co-founded the Origamido Studio, a teaching center, gallery, and design studio, with Michael G. LaFosse in 1996. Alexander also designs origami, prepares exhibits, and teaches origami classes and hand papermaking workshops, and is now the chief papermaker at the Origamido Studio. He photographs and videotapes the work of the studio for their publications. Together, Alexander and LaFosse have authored over 60 books, kits, and video publications about origami and related paper arts.
